CONCERT OF THE PROFESSORS OF THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT OF THE COLLEGE OF BASIC EDUCATION IN KUWAIT

The Basic Education College is a degree-awarding tertiary institute in Kuwait. It is one of the four colleges operated by the Government’s The Public Authority for Applied Educa- tion and Training (PAAET) and is part of the nation’s applied education sector.
The College is affiliated with the E-TQM College, the world’s first online school for the field of Total Quality Management (TQM). The college provides teachers to the Ministry of Education as part of their drive to im- prove standards. The Music Department is one of the leading departments.
Concert is organized under the guidance of Dr. Amer Jaafar

Dr. AMER JAAFAR is a leading Kuwaiti composer. He completed his studies in US and Poland Academies. Well-known from his composition of concert music as well as from very popular KTV series and movies, he is the author of new arrangement of Kuwaiti National Anthem. For many years Dr. Amer is an spiritual leader (also former Dean) of The Music Department of the College of Basic Education in Kuwiat.

DR. FERUZA KADIROVA - violin Born in Tashkent,Uzbekistan.She graduated and received her PhD from the Tashkent Conservatory as Violinist-performer. She won the first prize in the competition for Young Musicians in Uzbekistan and is a laureate of the International Competition for Violin.(Second prize). She played many concerts as a soloist with orchestras in Tashkent and recorded for TV and Radio in Uzbekistan. She worked in Tashkent Conservatory, the Academy of Arts, as the first violinist in orchestra “Opera House” in Egypt. Currently she is Violin Professor in the Music Department at the College of Basic Education in Kuwait.

HANAN EL-GUINDI - mezzosoprano graduated from the Music conservatory in Cairo where she studied with Dr. Ratiba El-Hefny and from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, class of Prof. Horiana Branisteanu. For many years as soloist in the Cairo opera House she was performed leading roles in operas by Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Massenet and Gounod as well as in many concerts in Egypt, Austria and Italy. Since 1993 she has participated in the prestige Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth - Germany. Hanan El-Guindi is a lecturer in the college of Basic Education (PAAET) in Kuwait.

MARZENA LIS - piano Started piano playing at the age of five. In 2000 she graduated from the Music Academy in Cracow (Poland). In years 2000-2003 studied (post graduate) Contemporary Performance ,tutored by Prof.Adam Kaczynski ,and she graduate with distinction. From 2000- 2010 she worked in professional Music Schools in Poland,many of her students are prize winners of piano competitions. Presently she is a lecturer in the Music Department of PAAET in Kuwait.

DR. SANA’A ALSAIF - piano From Kuwait. Started playing the piano as an amateur at High School then decided to consider it as a major study. Got a Bachelor degree from the Basic College of Education, Music Department. Got Masters and PhD degrees from United Kingdom.

DR. SAHAR MULHEM - piano began studying music with Russian professors in Syria. Then she graduated from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory where she continued pusuing higher Piano and Chamber Music training. She also obtained PhD in Music Art Sciences from the Russian Research Institute of Art Criticism. She performed numerous Solo and Chamber Music recitals in Syria, Russia, Jordan, Kuwait and Canada. She has published several academic specialized articles and researches. She is frequently invited as a jury member for piano competitions in Syria, Kuwait, Bahrain and Dubai. Today, she is Piano Professor in the Music Department in the College of Basic Education in Kuwait and she contributes a lot to the development of music education in Kuwait.

DR. ABDULLAH KHALAF - piano started his musical education in 2001 at the Basic Education College of Kuwait where he studied piano with Dr. Bartek Rybak. Abdullah obtained his MA with commendation in piano performance in 2008 from Kingston University, London. Abdullah took part on the International Conference on Music Since 1900 at Lancaster University in 2011, where he presented a paper entitled “Alan Rawsthorne and the Music of Revolution: The Ballades of 1929 and 1967”. Abdullah gained a PhD in piano performance from The University of Southampton in 2014. Now, Abdullah is Assistant Professor of music at The College of Basic Education, Music Department, Kuwait.

DR. AHMAD ALDERAIWAISH - clarinet graduated from The Higher Institute of Musical Art in 2006. His love for music led him to start his post-graduate studies in music in 2007. Consequently, he received his MA in music education from Kingston University in 2008. He received his PhD in music education from The University of Southampton in 2014. Since his return to Kuwait, Ahmad co-founded the first clarinet quartet in GCC. Now, Ahmad is Assistant Professor of music at The College of Basic Education, Music Department, Kuwait.

DR. BARTOŁOMIEJ RYBAK - piano was born in Lowicz, Poland, in 1976. He graduated from the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw with distinction in 2000 and from the Amsterdam Conservatory in 2002. He studied also conducting. During this time he won the 1st prize at the Chopin Competition for Young Pianists in Sochaczew. In 1998 he was awarded the 3rd prize at the Penderecki Contemporary Music Competition in Krakow and at the Lantier Competition of Interpretation, Paris in 1999. Bartek Rybak has given many concerts in Holland, France, Switzerland, Germany, England, Belgium, Kuwait, Egypt and Japan. Bartek Rybak is a lecturer in the music department of the College of Basic Education - PAAET in Kuwait.

DR. FAZLIDDIN HUSANOV - piano Fazliddin Husanov is a pianist of international reputation with a career spanning four continents. Fazliddin Husanov’s awards include first prize at the London International Music Competition in 2001, the Maisie Lewis Award (presented by The Worshipful Company of Musicians, London), the Bronze Medal in the Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition and Festival in Los Angeles. He has been privileged to study under distinguished pedagogues such as Tamara Popovich in Uzbekistan, Reinhard Becker in Germany, and Michael Schreider in the UK. He has also collaborated with great musicians such as Lev Naumov, Victor Merzhanov. Since first being invited to give master classes at the North London International Summer Course, these have become an annually sought after experience by the most discerning students. He combines his career as performer with his role as Professor of Piano at the College of Fine Art & Music, Kuwait.

DR. ILLGIZ ROYANOV - piano was born in Uzbekistan. He graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory & also completed a three-year postgraduate program with prof. Nikolaev and prof. Sosina among his teachers. He began his teaching career at the Tashkent Conservatory in 1976. For years he was the head of piano department as well as a solo pianist at the Uzbek State Philharmonic Orchestra. Dr. Ilgiz Royanov recorded for radio & Tv stations in Uzbekistan. He performed as a solo and chamber music pianist around Russia and abroad and was a piano professor at the Cairo Conservatory. In Egypt he played frequently in the Opera House Cairo, the Alexandria Library & other prestigious halls. Dr. Ilgiz Royanov is a lecturer in the music department of the College of Basic Education in Kuwait.
